| 摘要(中) | 本研究目的為比較傳統中文與台灣地區網路中文的用法。從結構語言學角度出發，將目前台灣地區使用的網路中文分為語音、構詞、語法及非言詞線索的彌補四大類；再由社會語言學及歷史語言學的角度，歸納網路中文的特性，更進一步探討造成傳統中文與台灣網路中文不同的原因。最後，藉由報紙標題的蒐集，研究網路中文是否會對現今報紙書面用語有所影響。
本研究蒐集的380筆語料來自批踢踢BBS（Bulletin Board System，電子佈告欄）中的討論板及《火星文傳奇》一書。語料分析以內省法為主，透過研究者本身的語感及語言學相關理論，包括諧音理論、中介語及構詞學等，進行語料詮釋，輔以BBS站內電子郵件與網友進行訪談，透過電子郵件訪談，更客觀地瞭解語料代表的意思及網友們實際使用網路中文的情況，並以歸納法找出網路中文的共同特性，探討影響其使用的原因。
研究結果顯示網路中文的特性包括下列七點：一、網路中文以變化語音為主；二、淡化書寫字形及字義；三、語音類網路中文變體多；四、語意改變；五、跨語言的使用；六、非正式性；七、擅用語言策略彌補非言詞線索的不足。
根據語料分析及歸納，造成網路中文與傳統中文不同的原因包括：一、省時原則；二、輸入法；三、網路族群氣氛；四、族群區隔；五、使用者自我認同與網路社群認同及六、媒體。其中媒體的影響又可分為電視、香港電影、漫畫及線上遊戲四類。
最後，本研究經由中國時報及自由時報的標題蒐集，發現目前報章書面語的確受到網路中文影響，傳統中文的語詞、句法漸漸開始改變，語言改變方向由青少年滲透至社會裡其他族群，網路中文漸漸成為大眾文化，成為一股不容忽視的力量，已悄悄地改變著我們的語言。

| 摘要(英) | This study aims to compare the differences between traditional written Chinese and network typing Chinese (NTC) in Taiwan. There are four main goals in this research. First, to classify NTC into categories, including phonetics, morphology, semantics and the compensation of non-verbal cues (e.g. prosoday and body language). Second, to generalize features of NTC. Third, to investigate reasons that drag NTC away from tradiditional written Chinese. Last, to find out whether NTC influences mass media such as newspapers headlines.
There are 380 entries of data collected from several discussion boards of PTT BBS (Bulletin Board System), and the book named “Huo Xin Wen Chuan Qi (Chinese)”. Three main methods are adopted in this research, including introspection, e-mail interview, and induction.
The results show seven main features of NTC in Taiwan. NTC is based on changing its phonetic structure. The spelling and meaning become less important. Also, phonetic variants and shift of semantic meanings can be readily observed in NTC. Moreover, language mixing is also common. In terms of text classification, NTC is basically an informal language. Finally, NTC users adopt linguistic strategies to compensate non-verbal cues which is abundant in every human oral language.
There are six factors that drag NTC away from tradiditional written Chinese, including the time-saving reason, the input method, the climates of discussing boards, group distinctions, the identy of users and the identy of netizens, and the mass media.
Last, the result shows newspapers headlines are already influenced by NTC. This finding proves NTC has changed traditional Written Chinese gradually.
